



Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide who will accompany you throughout the safari. You will be transferred to your hotel in Kigali where you can relax and acclimate to your new surroundings. In the afternoon, you will embark on a city tour of Kigali, visiting significant sites such as the Genocide Memorial Center, which provides a moving tribute to the Rwandan genocide. You will also have the opportunity to explore local markets and craft centers, where you can purchase handmade crafts and souvenirs.
Meals: Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast, you will depart from Kigali and drive to a traditional Rwandan village. Here, you will spend the day immersing yourself in the local culture and engaging in various activities. You will have the chance to learn about traditional farming practices, participate in cooking demonstrations, try your hand at traditional crafts such as basket weaving and pottery, and interact with community members. In the evening, you will be treated to performances of traditional Rwandan music and dance, providing a vibrant and entertaining cultural experience.

You will set off from your accommodation and drive to Musanze, a town situated near Volcanoes National Park. In Musanze, you will visit the Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village, where you can gain deeper insights into Rwandan traditions and customs. You will have the opportunity to witness demonstrations of traditional medicine, learn about basket weaving techniques, and observe pottery-making processes. One of the highlights of this visit is interacting with former poachers who have transformed into conservation ambassadors, sharing their stories and efforts to protect Rwanda’s wildlife.
Note: If you are interested, you can also embark on a gorilla trekking or hiking adventure in Volcanoes National Park (A gorilla trekking permit comes at an extra cost).

On this day, you will drive to Gisenyi, a charming town located on the shores of Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is one of Africa’s Great Lakes and offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere. You will take a boat ride on the lake, visiting nearby islands and enjoying the picturesque scenery. During the boat ride, you will have the opportunity to witness the daily lives of local fishing communities and learn about their fishing techniques. If you are seeking relaxation, you can unwind on the beach or engage in water sports activities such as kayaking or paddle boarding.

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali. Before departing, you will visit the Caplaki Craft Village, a vibrant market where you can browse and purchase traditional Rwandan crafts, artwork, and souvenirs. Here, skilled artisans showcase their creations, including woven baskets, wooden carvings, and colorful textiles. You can take some time to explore the market and find unique items to bring back home. Finally, you will enjoy a farewell lunch at a local restaurant, savoring the flavors of authentic Rwandan cuisine. After the meal, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure.
